About the Collection

The History of Printing Collection, in the Special Collections and Archives, houses samples that exhibit how man has written and recorded information. Some artifacts are examples of materials used for recorded information, some are samples of bookbinding or housing structures, and some are examples of texts, notably biblical history. There are many artifacts and important books including a leaf from a Gutenberg Bible and a first edition Book of Mormon. Also included are Mayan, Greek, and Egyptian pieces.
