Initially called LDS Quotes, this resource was begun in the 1970s as a card file. The purpose was to help students and others find unique and outstanding statements on LDS topics for use in talks, papers, etc. In 1979, the file was transferred to computer and a print version was bound and cataloged. That first publication included not only conference talks but also BYU Speeches of the Year and some books. Since 1980, only the conference sessions have been used. The coverage is from about 1900 to 1994 listed by relevant topics. References are to the official conference reports (BYU call number BX 8604.1 .A1) and give month (April or October), year, page and column. In general, the quotes do not include scriptures or quotes by others that are quoted by the conference speaker.

Quotes may be searched by Speaker/Author, Subject or Year. The full quotes are searchable under Search All.
