Sunday Classes FAQs

Do you offer classes or other instruction besides on Sunday?

Yes! Besides Sunday Classes, we also have many other virtual classes, webinars, instructional videos, and tutorials.

Are your Sunday classes recorded?

We do record most of the classes and/or provide copies of handouts and slides. See our virtual classes archive.

Is the BYU Library open on Sundays?

Yes! As of January 22nd, 2023, the BYU Library is open for family history on Sundays (except holidays, General Conference, and BYU semester breaks) from 4:00-8:00 p.m. See more information about our Sunday hours & services.

Will virtual classes continue on Sundays now that the library is open Sundays? How about in-person classes?

Yes. Sunday classes will continue virtually. Eventually, we will also resume some scheduled in-person classes, but for the moment, they will be virtual only. Live or recorded virtual classes may be shown in one of the classrooms.

Can I schedule a class or activity for a group on Sundays?

Yes, we love to host YSAs, youth, and adult groups for classes or other family history activities. To schedule a group, contact the family history missionaries. You can also schedule these on weekdays.

"BYU access" means that the item is accessible on BYU campus or remotely for logged-in BYU students and faculty. If labeled “BYU campus” then it is available anywhere on BYU campus, but not remotely. "BYU Library" indicates that you may only access the resource while physically at the BYU Library. (If you have a personal account with any of these sites, you can access them anywhere. If so, it is best to access them directly rather than using these links.)

*FamilySearch is accessible anywhere on the Internet, but many of the images (ca. 25-30%) require viewing at a FamilySearch family history center or affiliate library. The BYU Library has access to these images.
