Blender yields professional results despite being a free and open-source program. Its rich feature set includes modeling, texturing, rendering, VFX, 3D animation, 2D animation, drawing and more. Blender is THE tool for any hobby 3D artist. But, because it has a steep learning curve, most people benefit from lessons. In the Makerspace Introductory Blender Course, students will learn Blender basics they can use to comfortably approach more advanced tutorials.
The course consists of three 50 minute classes over a period of three weeks (one class a week). Each class builds upon the lessons learned from the previous class.
DAY 1: Navigation and basic object manipulation
DAY 2: Object editing and meshes
DAY 3: Special topics such as materials, UV's, Rigging, Rendering, Hair, physics, and more.
We're excited to offer this fast-paced, college-level software course designed to challenge and inspire! To ensure the best possible experience for participants, registration is open to current BYU students and employees only.
