Periodicals such as print journals, magazines and newspapers (1990 – current) housed in the Periodicals Room on Level 2 do not check out of the library. This policy extends to faculty just as it does for staff, students, and community patrons. In lieu of checkout, please request copies of specific articles using the library’s article delivery service.
Periodicals published prior to 1990 are now located in on-site compact auxiliary storage. This collection is not open for browsing. Access to specific volumes may be requested at the periodicals help desk on Level 2 or the Circulation Desk on Level 3.
In special circumstances and with reasonable justification, faculty may request to check out a periodical for a period of 21 days. Such requests must be approved through the Reference and Circulation Manager. The Reference and Circulation Manager reserves the right to deny requests for periodicals checkout.
