Checkout Privileges
Retirees retain the same checkout privileges as when they were employed. Requested items are made available for pickup at the circulation desk located on the third floor of the Library.
Database Access
Retirees retain full access to most databases when on campus but do not have access when off campus due to legal restrictions from our content providers. If off-campus access is needed for continuing BYU affiliated research, the retiree access form will need to be filled out and returned.
If off-campus access is desired but you are not engaged in BYU affiliated research, you can access a selection of databases through one of the following methods:
- If you reside in Utah, you can access through a selection of databases through your public library or the Utah State Library.
Faculty Research Rooms
Retired faculty can request a room in the Library in order to perform research on campus.

- Interlibrary Loan (ILL) & Article Delivery
If the Library doesn't have what you're looking for, Interlibrary Loan will get it for you. We deliver PDFs of articles and book chapters to students and faculty.
