Overview

• We offer the resources for 3D scanning via two different methods: photogrammetry or laser. Photogrammetry is for when a full color scan is needed, laser doesn't capture color but is much faster and keeps sizing accurate
• Employees familiar with 3D scanning are available to answer questions, but you'll be responsible for performing the scan. You will follow along with this step-by-step video while using the laser scanner. Laser scanner is a FARO xP head, with a 2 meter Quantum Max arm
• The resulting file is usually an .stl or .obj, but other options may be available such as .iges, .step and .pts
• Shiny, translucent or transparent objects can be difficult to scan well and may require the use of a special spray. We stock Aesub Orange which disappears 12-24 hours after application. Please check to make sure the spray is safe to use your material.
