Summary of July Meeting

July 6, 2007

Today in our meeting we discussed RSS Feed Readers.  Gerrit Van Dyk did a wonderful presentation on Google Reader and the Mozilla Reader Sage.  We learned how to sign up for accounts, how to add feeds, how to remove feeds, and how to sign up for the TLC blog feed and the library catalog feeds.

Derrik Hiatt asked if this group was going to be more theoretical or practical.  The input indicated we would like something more practical.  The initial vision was stated that the blog would be the theoretical, the meetings would be the practical.  Any thoughts on this issue?  What would you like to see our group focus on?  Post a comment and let us know!

We also discussed what we would like to do in future meetings — some of the suggestions were: Outlook 2007 RSS reader; how to set up RSS feeds; info about the new MEGI chat that Andy and Letti are using; Graphic Arts Software; Sound file management; podcasting; Wikki’s; Bloog; Facebook; iGoogle.

Do you have any ideas of things you would like to discuss?  Please post your comments and let us know of things you find interesting

Our next meeting will be August 3rd at 2:00 pm in room 2232.  Hope to see you there!
