Mission Statement
The political science major is designed to fulfill the admonition of the Doctrine and Covenants (88:79–80). Politics extends far beyond the immediate concerns of politicians or pollsters; it is essential to the human condition. Since we are all shaped by the institutions we inhabit, political science helps us to understand not only our world but ourselves.
