December 6, 2010 by Rebekah

We’re glad to announce the latest department to join ScholarsArchive is Exercise Sciences. Our fabulous student employee, Jamie, has been working with her professors in the department to identify publications we can add to their new collection. You can read about long-distance training, stretching, core body temperature, Restless Legs Syndrome, and much more. Click here to browse the collection.

If you’re interested in seeing your items in ScholarsArchive, please email us at scholarsarchive@byu.edu.

Computer Science Additions

November 29, 2010 by Rebekah

The Computer Science collection on ScholarsArchive has been growing a lot this semester. Faculty members of the department gave us their C.V. and we have identified those publications we can legally include in the collection. Then we went to work finding and posting the articles. We hope more faculty members will send their list of publications to scholarsarchive@byu.edu! Browse the Computer Science collection today.

New Tutorial!

November 8, 2010 by Rebekah

An online tutorial about ScholarsArchive has been created by the iLearning division of the Lee Library. Watch the tutorial to learn why you should contribute to the archive and see demos on using the website. Click here to watch the tutorial. Feel free to pass this along to your department and other BYU colleagues!

Updates to Website

October 14, 2010 by Rebekah

You may have noticed a few small changes to the ScholarsArchive website. Links to the ScholarsArchive blog and policies have been moved from the navigation panel on the left side of the homepage. This leaves the navigation panel clear of anything except the collection links. No need to worry about losing the other links, though! You’ll find the blog and policies links on the right side of the homepage, along with a link for submitting items.

Hopefully these changes will help you navigate the ScholarsArchive collections more easily. Please don’t hesitate to use the other links to check out what’s new on the blog, review the policies, or to submit something to share with the rest of us!

Geological Sciences Collection Grows

September 27, 2010 by Rebekah

A number of articles related to paleobotany have recently been added to the Geological Sciences section of ScholarsArchive. The author of the articles, Dr. William D. Tidwell, is an emeritus faculty member who made the study of plant fossils and ancient vegetation his life’s work. We are pleased to feature 31 pieces of his work, both abstracts of conference papers and published articles.  Take a step back in time by visiting the collection today!

Another way to submit…

September 13, 2010 by Rebekah

Do you have something you’d like to submit to ScholarsArchive? You now have the option of submitting the item yourself! Look for the links on the homepage, or click here to see the self-submission page. The process is simple: enter descriptive information about your submission; upload your file; agree to a submission license. You’re done! The submission will appear in ScholarsArchive within a few business days.

Masters Project Added

August 16, 2010 by Rebekah

Marnie Hopkins recently completed a Masters project titled, History of Latter-day Saint Education in Nauvoo 1839-1845. Marnie writes that, “understanding the history of education within The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is essential in order to comprehend the full history of the Church, its people and culture.” We are pleased to have Marnie’s project in the student publications section of ScholarsArchive. Read Marnie’s project.
