About the Event:
In an unusual plot, Cary Grant is a gambler with more than a touch of larceny who, when called up by his draft board, decides to sail off to Cuba, until he meets charity worker Laraine Day. She decides to use his schemes to raise money for war relief and gets the board of directors to play along. Switched identities and a well-written script made for a high grossing film that inspired a remake as well as a popular television series in the 1950s. L. Tom Perry Special Collections houses the papers of Laraine Day.
