About the Event
The small exhibition is intended to showcase some of the many ways women preserve their life stories and experiences. It includes a variety of materials housed in the archives of L. Tom Perry Special Collections that have been written by and about women. The purpose of the exhibition and the presentation is to raise awareness of Mormon women’s collections that can be used for scholarly research. The students in a women’s history class taught by Dr. Amy Harris helped select the exhibition items and wrote the captions as an assignment in which they were required to work with primary sources. There is a wealth of women’s materials spread throughout the library archives that provides insights into the daily lives, experiences and accomplishment of Mormon women. The presentation on March 26 at 3:30 pm will discuss the types of materials in archives and how to access women’s collections.
