About the Event

Inspired by Tennyson’s famous poem, and freely adapted from the historical record, the “noble six hundred” of the British light cavalry ride to their death at Balaklava as a major highlight of the Crimean War in 1854, but not before Flynn and Knowles vie for the affections of the beautiful Olivia deHavilland. This was the second of eight films in which Flynn and deHavilland starred. A major box-office hit on its initial release, it remains one of the best films by Casablanca director Michael Curtiz, who later directed Flynn in The Adventures of Robin Hood. Warner Bros. 1936. 115 mins. Special production featurette.
