About the Event
The prolific Victorian novelist Anthony Trollope (1815-1882) published 47 novels and was the author of 16 other books of differing genres. Often ignored today, his novels captured the ordinary life of upper-middle-class England and serve as excellent resources for delving into the social history of the Victorian era. Recently, book collector John A. Taylor conveyed to the L. Tom Perry Special Collections over 600 volumes of Trollope’s works representing the bulk of his Anthony Trollope Collection, with perhaps more to follow. In his presentation, John will comment about the library’s recent acquisition of his collection while providing personal background and giving a refresher about who Anthony Trollope was, why he matters and what one can find in Trollope’s books.
