About the Event

The first folklore that any of us is exposed to is family folklore, and the traditions that we learn as members of a family group stay with us throughout our lives. On July 13, at 7:00pm in the HBLL auditorioum, Michael Taft, Head of the Archive of Folk Culture in the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress, will describe some family traditions that he and others have collected to show the range of folklore found within the family circle.
