We will be hosting another Van Training in the Library. It will be held on July 8th at 2pm in room 2234. This is for all library employees (including students) who think they may need to drive the van. We will be checking for van permits before we hand out the keys so please make sure you bring your permit with you when you come to get the van. If you cannot make it to this training, Risk Management can set up a class for you individually or as a small group. We hope to see you there!

We have a new mail tracking system in Receiving! This new system will allow us to keep track of all incoming packages and the people and places we deliver them to. Some may have already noticed changes in our process and we hope to continue to become more efficient and more reliable. We can track packages from us to Mail Services with no charge. However, if you would like a package tracked from Mail Services to the final destination, you will need to fill out a Mail Services Tracking form and pay a small fee with your department account code. You can access the form here: http://pmpc.byu.edu/Mail/Products/express_request.php If you have any questions while filling the form out, we would be glad to help you. Again please let us know if you have any concerns or ideas about improving receiving!

We would like to inform you of some changes that are happening in Receiving.

Dock Security-

To improve our security of the dock we will be asking patrons who do not have card access to sign in and out when they come through the dock door. Those who do have card access will be asked to sign out only if they are taking something from the building.

Packages-

Along the same lines, we will be asking you to please sign for packages that you pick up from us. This will help us keep a better record and ensure that your packages are secure. If you have any suggestions as to how me might increase our security of packages even more, please let us know.

Copying-

In order to allow our students to serve you better, we have started a more organized copy center. We have some forms outside the receiving window and ask that you fill out the form, attach it to the original and leave it for us. If it is given to us by 2pm we will have the copies ready for you by noon the next day at the latest. Of course, if you have a last minute need, we will be as accommodating as possible.

Entering Receiving-

For increased security of mail, packages, and other items, we ask that you do not walk into receiving without first talking to the student there. We know that mail can be an inconvenience and we will gladly grab your mail for you if you will just ask at the window. In the past we have not always had a student at the desk but we are working to keep the desk staffed at all times and hopefully this will alleviate the need to go into receiving to grab something.

We thank you immensely for your patience and willingness to work with us as we strive to improve our department. If you have any concerns or suggestions please let us know.
