Services
The Periodicals Room offers a variety of services for faculty, students and patrons of the library. Below is a list of a variety of services that we offer in the Periodicals Room. Let us know if there is anything that we might help you with!
Computer & Scanner Access
The Periodicals Room offers access to over 50 Access Point Computers for BYU faculty and students and various computers (guest computers) that do not require a Route Y login for all other patrons of the library. Scanners are available at nearly half of the computers in the room free of charge.
Headphones
Headphones may be checked out to patrons for 2 hours and are not allowed to leave the room.
Laptop Internet Access
Wireless internet access is available in all parts of the Periodicals Room. Wired internet access is available at all study tables in the room.
Printing
There are two high-speed black and white printers and a color printer available. The cost is 7¢ per page for the black and white printers and 28¢ per page for the color printer.
Copy Machines
The Periodicals Room has two copy machines which are located across from the printers. The cost is 7¢ per page for a black & white copy. They also do color copies for 28¢ and scanning to email for free.
Faculty Check-outs
BYU faculty may check out a periodical for 24-hours. To check-out a periodical, bring your Faculty ID and the periodical to the Periodicals Reference Desk.
Group Study Room
The Periodicals Room has two group study rooms available for reservation (Room 2103 & 2104, max occupancy = 10).
