Here I am in Vista, I have a sidebar (mostly useless), trillian up in a sidebar, and that's 1-4 of my deskspace for two apps. I use it to search the catalog, not "multiple databases." Every time I use it I have to change what is being searched. More customization would be helpful. The reason is desktop space. Taking up precious pixels for yet another toolbar doesn't sound like a winning idea. Instead of implementing the library search as a toolbar, why don't you instead create a search engine add-on for the search bar in the top-right corner of the screen? ummm. . . the toolbar sounds like a great idea but I won’t use it nor do I think many others will.
