<p>A two–day symposium for librarians, teachers, parents, and anyone who enjoys children’s literature</p>
<p><strong>Dates: July 14–15, 2011 </strong></p>
<p>Come join us for two enjoyable days with six nationally known authors  and illustrators of children’s literature. Each author and illustrator  will share their unique perspective on children’s literature followed by  a short question–and–answer session. In addition, two autograph  sessions and four informal discussion groups with individual authors  will be available.</p>

<p>The Teen Book Fest @ PCL seeks to  celebrate the literature written for young adults and those who read,  write, and enjoy it!  With the smashing success of the Provo Children&#8217;s  Book Festival, the Library wanted to develop a dynamic, innovative book  event for teens.  With a cadre of national and local authors in  attendance, the Fest includes author signings and panels, games and  giveaways, a book character costume contest, live music, a collaborative  wall graphic novel, and more!</p>
<p>Free tickets to Mr. Westerfeld&#8217;s noon  keynote will be available Friday, October 15, 2010 at the Adult Services  Reference desk on the first floor.</p>

BYU&#8217;s Young Company will present a theatre-for-young-audiences production of &#8220;A Thousand Cranes&#8221; by Kathryn Shultz Miller. It is the award-winning true story of Sadako, a Japanese girl who, 10 years after Hiroshima was bombed in WWII, discovers she has &#8220;radiation sickness.&#8221; While in the hospital she learns of the legend of 1,000 paper cranes and begins folding. She hopes that in completing 1,000 cranes, the gods will grant her one wish. It will play nightly Feb. 2-13 at 7 p.m. in the Nelke Theatre. Two matinees will take place Saturday, Feb. 6 and 13, at 2 and 4 p.m. There will be no performances Sundays or Mondays.
