Alice Chalifoux Donation

Alice Chalifoux devoted many years teaching at the Cleveland Institute of Music. There, she served as principal harp in the Cleveland Orchestra from 1931 to 1974, and she had pupils that can be found in the orchestras of Boston, San Francisco, Houston, Indianapolis, Dallas, and Baltimore to name a few. Alice started playing the harp at 11 years old, and eventually studied under the famous Carlos Salzedo. Salzedo eventually left her his home and school in his will. Alice Chalifoux lived to be 100 years old, and died in 2008.
