This page contains various resources on Children’s and Young Adult Literature intended to support university courses as well as the scholarly study of Children’s and Young Adult Literature.
Please note that these are personal recommendations from one librarian and no other endorsement beyond this is given or implied. Note that not all recommendations and not all books will be suitable for all readers. It is not recommended that children and young adults read all the books here. Personal tastes, reading ability, maturity level, and individual circumstances will govern what books specific readers will enjoy. These recommendations offer a wide variety of reading levels and interest levels and they cover many different types of literature, that among other things cover relevant, contemporary social issues for all ages of children. Teachers and parents are encouraged to select materials most suited to the readers and situations they are working with.
