Art:

J.M.W. Turner features nine paintings by English Romantic landscape artist William Turner (1775-1851). The leading British artist of his era, Turner transformed the genre of landscape painting. He was known as “the painter of light” because of his startling use of light and color. Over six decades, he produced more than 20,000 oils, watercolors, and drawings. He achieved success throughout his career, inspired generations of artists, and is considered a predecessor of the impressionists. (National Gallery of Art)
