About the County Histories
County histories are valuable sources of information for genealogists, historians, and cultural studies scholars. This database lists county (and township) histories that are located in the BYU Library for the states of the United States, provinces of Canada, and shires/counties of the countries in the British Isles: England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales. It also includes general histories for each state, Canada, and the British Isles countries. All counties are listed even if the library does not own a history for it. Call numbers are for BYU copies.
