Obtaining Permission
Permission to use copyrighted material is required if your proposed use does not qualify as fair use or another exemption in the copyright law. To use the services of the Copyright Licensing Office for obtaining permission, select RMEO or ODY©.
Reserve Request System (RMEO)
This program allows users to place materials on Reserve in the Course
Reserve Library AND request copyright permission if it is needed. Any
licensing fees for use of materials placed on Course Reserve are paid
by the Copyright Licensing Office. This is a service for BYU faculty and
staff.
Copyright Request (ODY©)
This program allows BYU faculty and staff to request permission for
copyright-protected works that will NOT be placed on reserve in the Course
Reserve Library. Any licensing fees for use with this option are the responsibility
of the requestor.
