Kennedy, former U.S. Secretary of the Treasury and Ambassador-at-Large, the
Kennedy Center prepares students to make contributions in global affairs with
degrees in International Relations and Area Studies, Study Abroad
opportunities, research programs, and lectures by scholars and diplomats. The
objective is to mold the brightest students today who will serve the people and
nations of the world tomorrow—-a commitment that extends beyond classroom
theory to incorporate practical experience in an international setting. Kennedy
Center graduates have a reputation around the world for their academic
excellence, international experience, and moral character. The center's
international and area studies offers five major and nineteen minor degree
programs. The campus attracts extraordinary diplomats, scholars, and talented
individuals from business, politics, finance, public service, and education who
teach and lecture at the International Forum Series. The center also offers
conferences and seminars to stimulate intellectual debate and to prepare
students for evolving career opportunities in our global community.

and meeting minutes, as well as information on the history, organization, and
international associations of the Kennedy Center.

Biographical History
Named for David M. Kennedy, former U.S. Secretary of the Treasury and
Ambassador-at-Large, the Kennedy Center prepares students to make contributions
in global affairs with degrees in International Relations and Area Studies,
Study Abroad opportunities, research programs, and lectures by scholars and
diplomats. Located in the heart of Brigham Young University's campus, the
Center is a dynamic global center offering a broad spectrum of study and
service opportunities. The objective is to mold the brightest students today
who will serve the people and nations of the world tomorrow-—a commitment that
extends beyond classroom theory to incorporate practical experience in an
international setting. Students who are admitted will find faculty and staff to
help them identify and take advantage of international study, career goals, and
job placement. Kennedy Center graduates have a reputation around the world for
their academic excellence, international experience, and moral character. The
center's international and area studies offers five major and nineteen minor

Scope and Content Note
This collection contains correspondence and meeting minutes, as well
as information on the history, organization, and international associations of
the Kennedy Center.
Notes on Arrangement
The Kennedy Center Collection is divided into two series. The first
series contains the meeting minutes and correspondence of the center, ranging
from box 1 to box 7. The second series is entitled Kennedy Center Organization
and History. It is further divided into 3 subseries, the first of which is the
History and Organization Subseries, containing information on the founding and
structure of the center, with additional information on areas of study. The
second subseries consists of the documentation of international visitors to the
center, while the last subseries contains information relating to the center's
international associations. Overal the second series consists of boxes 7
through 10, grouped by subject.
