This collection consists of six series,
namely: IBM Codes and Inventories, Collection Records, Articles and
Publications about the Nevada Test Site, Trapping Summaries, Photographs and
Maps, and Other Items. Series one, IBM Codes and Inventories, includes
information about the codes for each type of life form in the Nevada Test Site
and also an inventory of the life found therein. Series two, Collection
Records, has all of the records of animal life that were noted throughout the
study. These collection records include information about the area in which the
life form was found; the day, month, and year it was found; the species, the
sex, and the number of specimens that were collected; and lastly, the method in
which the specimen was collected. Series three has reprints of articles and
publications that discuss aspects of the Nevada Test Site. Most are written or
co-written by Dorald M. Allred. Series four, Trapping Summaries, is almost the
same as Collection Records in that it has the same kind of information.
Trapping summaries includes data about the specimens collected at each of the
traps that were placed in the Nevada Site. The data consists of the species,
the study site, the date, the location, the vegetation that was present, the
trap plan, and how many specimens were found dead and alive. Series five, the
Photographs and Maps Series, includes aerial photos of the Nevada Test Site as
well as photos of specimens and study sites. Series six, Other Items, includes
all other information that did not fit into one of the above series. This
information includes layout plans of the Nevada Site, Vegetation information
and analysis, and study area information.
