There was an 8-year restriction on the letters, news clippings and telegrams sent to Judge Callister after the decision was made which expired November 15, 1991. Collection is now open to public use.

Marion Jones Callister was born on June 6, 1921, in Moreland Idaho, to Orson Pratt Callister and Annie Francella Jones. He was educated in Mooreland High School after which he served in the United States Army for 2 years (1944-1946) and was awarded the Purple Heart. He married Nina Lynn Hayes on June 7, 1946, and they are the parents of 12 children.
Callister received his law degree from the University of Utah in l951, and was admitted to the Idaho Bar that same year. From 1951 to 1952 he served as the assistant County Attorney in Blackfoot, after which he was appointed Assistant U. S. Attorney in Boise until 1957. He began his private practice in 1958 and continued there until he was made the State District Judge, Fourth Judical District, Ada County, Idaho. In 1975, he was made U. S. District Attorney for the District of Idaho. The following year he was appointed to the bench for the same district, in which capacity he was serving when this register was compiled.
